About Enabled Children Initiative:
The Enabled Children Initiative (ECI) is an independent charity organization in the United King- dom, and as a 501(c)(3) in the USA with a charity branch in Afghanistan (number 465). ECI supports children with disabilities in Afghanistan.
ECI supports children in Afghanistan with disabilities through residential, educational and in- come generation support for families.
About the Program:
ECI is an organization that is growing quickly. As an organization, we are focused on growing our institutional capacity and expanding and improving our programming in a sustainable man- ner. Sustainability is a key principle of our work. To be truly sustainable, we aim to move away from complete donor dependency. ECI has started implementing revenue generation components already, but we must do this on a larger scale in a way that compliments and is integrated into the programming and services we offer.
The Director of Sustainability & Partnerships will work to achieve ECI’s goal of expanding ca- pacity, extending reach/impact and scaling the organization in a sustainable manner. The posi- tion will be based in Kabul, full-time, reporting to the Country Director and Executive Director. The Director of S&P will be responsible for:
Identifying local and international corporate partners by matching corporate interests with en- gagement opportunities via Corporate Social Responsibility programs,
Building programmatic partnerships with organizations in Afghanistan and across the globe to enrich our work, leveraging technology for efficiency where possible, and
ECI is setting a bold trajectory of minimizing donor dependency through social enterprise ven- tures which the Director of S&P will also work to identify and assess.
Through the use of technology, predictive modeling, data analytics and on-the-ground market research, the Director of S&P will be charged with developing and implementing revenue-gen- erating models for ECI programs.
Research and identification of organizations to outreach to, including, but not limited to busi- nesses and other private sector organizations, NGOS/INGOs, government organizations, donor organizations, foreign embassies, organizations and individuals working in the same field as ECI, etc; and outreach to develop CSR partnerships, program partnerships, mentorships, train- ing, sponsorships, social enterprise collaboration, etc.
Researching and assessing feasibility of a social enterprise program ECI can implement that can generate revenue for ECI and address/fulfill a community need
Researching and assessing other ways to build revenue generation into new and existing pro- grams
Following the research phase, development of a detailed plan that fleshes out an implementa- tion plan, with a budget, for the social enterprise
Assist the Country Director and Executive Director with tracking and monitoring project out- puts, and collecting and packaging information, updates, and photos for donor reports.
Attending to other general managerial, administrative and logistical tasks as instructed by the Country Director and Executive Director.
The candidate should have the following:
At least 3 years experience working in business development or program management;
Exceptional managerial, organizational, analytical and interpersonal communication skills;
A university degree in a related field;
Experience in finance and administrative work;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office softwares;
Preferred experience working with persons with disabilities; or in the disability rights, child rights, or human rights sectors;
Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto and fluency in English;
Proficient in report-writing, grant-writing, and proposal-writing.
