About Afghan Family Guidance Association |AFGA:

Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA) is an Afghan non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-political organization established in 1968. AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive health and Rights since its inception and has recently become an associate member of International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

AFGA activities were suspended due to war and conflict in the country for ten years (1992-2002) and resumed its activities in 2002 with financial support from International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

IPPF is an alliance of 151 family planning associations known as Member Associations which has projects in over 180 countries. IPPF continues to be the largest civil society provider of reproductive health information and services in the world.

Job Description:

Introduction:

Under overall supervision of the RMNCAH Director of the Ministry of Public Health the eLMIS Data Management Consultant   will provide technical support to family planning unit and as well collection, management and dissemination of contraceptives and RH lifesaving commodities data through eLMIS. She/he will also support strengthening the Supply chain management provide technical advice in upgrading the LMIS to eLMIS

Major duties and responsibilities:

Ensure timely collection, management and dissemination of contraceptives and RH lifesaving commodities data through eLMIS
Participate in FP and RMNCAH meetings and dissemination of FP information for the decision making.
Prepare consolidated data report when necessary;
Ensure that the compiled data is consistent and correct;
Organize hard/soft copies of all information/data collected and present the data in RHCS coordination committees and other meetings
Perform regular field visits to ensure the quality of data collected by programs and to verify the accuracy of reported data, when needed;
Assist FP department of MOPH in area of information and data management and delivering capacity building activities in RHCS and eLMIS
Promote and support data use and dissemination of contraceptives and RH lifesaving commodities information among partner agencies.
Facilitate exchange of information among PPHDs, FP partner agencies, MoPH and UNFPA
Give necessary inputs for development of eLMIS online database and mobile based Application
Any relevant task given by the supervisor

Job Requirements:

Medical Doctor from recognized university and master degree are preferred
3-4 years’ relevant experience especially within an NGO, government or similar organization in management and utilization of program data (preferably public health related programming)
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet software, and data processing
Proficiency in Maintenance of Database, Data analysis and Presentation of data.
Familiarity with family planning or reproductive health is preferable     
Fluency in English and Pashto and Dari both written and spoken
