About Action against Hunger :
Action Against Hunger (AAH) is a Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) that was create in France in 1979. Action Against Hunger has been active in Afghanistan in the medical, nutrition, food security, and water and sanitation fields since 1995.
Objective 1: Organize and implement lifesaving intervention and cash distribution activities
Ensure implementation of activities defined;
Plan in the field the activities according to the project’s expected development;
Aware regarding lifesaving intervention to team and community
Evaluate and update project needs (technique with beneficiaries selection criteria);
Suggest appropriate questionnaires;
Apply the follow-up and supervision tools of the project;
Identify and inform the FLS program manager of any problems or constraints;
Ensure follow-up of the project’s progress and debrief it on a daily basis
Propose solutions and improvements concerning the project’s progress;
Coordinate activities and sensitize local partners in the field.
Involve and inform the communities in the implementation of the program
Involve and inform the gov authorities at district level in the implementation of the program especially during cash distribution.
Objective 2: Participate in the evaluation and reorientation of the project
Participate in food security department meetings if requested
Analyse and build on experiences in order to share the lessons learnt
Propose new directions for the project to the FSL PM
Weekly update report and progress to program manager
Objective 3: Manage the project’s team for distribution
Sensitize and mobilize the communities during cash distribution
Develop distribution plan and distribution document in close coordination with program manager
Train the team members (field officers) on the project implementation specially cash distribution modalities
Organize the work of the team to optimize the capacity of each team member
Participate in the distribution process within different distribution sites
Regular monitoring of field activities
Develop all essential documents for distribution with the support of the FSL PM
Qualification/level of study:
Degree in the fields of agriculture, veterinary/animal science, extensive information in cash distribution, extensive experience in humanitarian activities especially in input distribution and mobilization background or proven equivalent experience.
At least 2 years of working experience as a Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) supervisor (or any similar position) in local or international organization.
Experience in rural development projects. Experience in humanitarian assistance and distribution. Experience in the above-mentioned districts is an asset.
Experience in the humanitarian field and experience in the cash base intervention is an asset.
Work experience with Action Against Hunger is an asset.
Good knowledge of cash base intervention techniques and good practices
Knowledge of local context is mandatory
Organizational and managerial skills
Analytical capacity and mobilization skills
Flexibility regarding working hours and tasks
Fluent in Dari and Pashto (written, spoken, read).
Excellent in English (written, spoken, read).
Knowledge and extensive information with computer programing especially data analyses.
