Job Description:

SUMMARY OF KEY FUNCTIONS

The Field supervisor is responsible to participate and assist project manager and technical advisor in preparation of provincial, community and district level operation plans. S/he is responsible to implement plan for awareness rising, capacity build health staff and provide technical support to GAC project in the different stages project implementation, supportive supervision, projects status report preparation etc.), and ensures that project is implementing in accordance to technical specification and standard proposal.

Reports to: project manager 
Collaborates with Gender Sensitive Health and Protection Assistance for Crisis Affected Populations
Actively contributes to Project Team Meetings, to ensure that the project interventions are implemented in effective and efficient manner and the project goal and objectives are met

Conduct training for CHWS and communities

The Field Supervisor in coordination with community mobilizers and health education officer is responsible to select appropriate frontline health worker in target community, design, implement and monitor the project activities H/she also might be requested to support project in terms of all supervising issues related to Abbott project. H/she is expected to achieve the following results:
Coordinate Abbott project activities with PPHD, communities and related stakeholders at provincial level,
Conduct training to CHWs and local public health facilities on COVID-19 response measures and provision of SRH and GBV services in COVID-19 crisis
Conduct post monitoring from health facilities and health post for providing COVID-19 response, SHR and GBV services
Supervise health education officer and community mobilizer and guide them on their jobs
Keep control the project activities in provincial level.
Foreseeing safety of work for project implementation in target area.
Prepare community wide work calendar and specify resources required to undertake the plan.
Ensure that technical designs are as per standard and with a high and safe quality.
Ensure that the plan is shared with the communities, provincial health directorate and BPHS/EPHS implementer NGOs therefore is attainable and have the endorsement of the community.
Explain program objectives to the stakeholders, communities and ensure project ownership by the participating communities by convincing them about the goals and objectives of the projects.
Ensure that the community is undertaking the work and are involved in monitoring.
Planning of training to community health workers and health facilities staff with coordination of PPHD and implementer NGOs
Make sure that the projects are being implemented according to their design and estimation.
Collect and measure project’s effect indicator.
Prepare inputs from all supervising activities to M&R Officer, provincial manage, project manager at any time required
Perform of any other tasks as assigned.

                                  

Job Requirements:

COMPETENCE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Core Competencies:

Build personal and inter project relationship, analysis issues, cultural sensitivity, Gender sensitivity, team work, establish a conductive working environment and persuade others, mobilize communities and good coordination with stakeholders and implement the MHT,
Effective technical and social mobilization skills, training, analytical thinking. innovative thinking. Computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel), monitoring and excellent supervision and coordination skills.
Promote community about use of technical competency during providing health services
Encourage the community for projects’ post-completion maintenance.

Skills and Experience:

Deep knowledge of the community health services
Good coordination skill
Management skill (Monitoring, supervision& reporting)
Excellent training and facilitation
Having a deep knowledge of Afghan traditions and cultural norms
Ability and willingness to work at the communities
Excellent spoken /written Dari and Pushto
Ability to review and monitor activity and record outcomes and learning
Fluency in spoken and written Dari, Pashtu and English is Highly Desirable.

Education and working experience

Medical degree, Master degree is preferred.

Languages Skills:

Fluency in spoken and written Dari, Pashtu and English is highly desirable.
