Job Description:

The Marketing and Value Chain Specialist will work closely with vocational trainers and trainees of three categories IDPs, Returnees Host Community, the project may work in different villages where there are more IDPs and returnees. To carry out detailed market analysis in order to ensure demand-based planning of income generating activities under sub-objectives 1 and 2, which are based on local demand. Training of the participants in the development of business plans, management and in marketing activities. Support in the development of business ideas and the development of small businesses and networking with suppliers and producers. The Marketing Value Chain Specialist will provide guidance and support to the whole team of vocational trainers both in Herat and Badghis Province and will be responsible for reporting to her line supervisor. 

Job Requirements:

Support in the development of business ideas and the development of small businesses and networking with suppliers and producers.

Duties and Responsibilities
Situation Analysis of Local Producers and Market Opportunities
Identify products, quality and quantity of the outputs from local producers to include products produced predominantly by men/ women
Identify key market players, value chains directions/inputs, outputs and entry points to include the extent of women and men’s involvement in the production of and ownership of the produce/ products
Participatory Value Chain Analysis with Producers
Communicate findings and ideas to producers and stakeholders in region
Network and liaise with Local and Government, NGOs and Business Groups. 
Identify market development opportunities that present through networks and relationships with other institutions and organizations and NGOs working in the areas of Market Access and development (which include opportunities for women to engage in and benefit from)
Establish strong network among producers and market players.
Develop communications and outreach materials including posters, brochures, leaflets and billboards.
Responsible for developing, designing and conducting trainings for TVET beneficiaries’ representatives and village letters on communications, media relations and marketing.
Responsible for supporting Badghis province and governments entities to implement communication plans and targeted messaging through a variety of media, including print, video and visual media from recording to production.
