About Afghan Midwife Association:
Afghanistan Midwifery Association is one of the biggest professional associations in Afghanistan. The purpose of the Afghan Midwives Association (AMA) is to advocate for the midwifery profession and strengthen the role of midwives to ensure the wellbeing of the women and their families in Afghanistan. AMA has played an important role on improvement of midwifery profession, advocating for the recognition of midwifery as a separate profession. The Association is leading the whole midwives related issues in the country; focus is on midwifery education, registration, accreditation and career development. AMA is widely recognized association both nationally and internationally, it has strong network with key actors including donors, UN family, line ministries and other associations. The association has been advocating for the establishment of Afghanistan Midwifery and Nursing Council. Working with MoPH, development partners and policy makers at the government level. Afghan midwives put lots of energy and efforts to tackle the high level maternal and child mortality in Afghanistan. Since there is no such control mechanism in our education system, and the quality of education system through private providers are always under question, with rapid increase in number and less opportunity for continues education and mentorship of clinical practice the question of quality care automatically raised. The current BPHS and EPHS has not include in- service training thus most of graduated health practitioners facing lot of problem in actual practice during clinical work.
Plan, organize and evaluate the activities concerning his/her field of action and the team associated, according to AMA values, policies and protocols and MLMCC& MLUs health standards, in order to warrant the quality and continuity of the health care.
Carry out the functions and tasks associated to his/her specialty whenever required or needed, in order to optimize the resources, contributing with his/her knowledge and experience
Implement all the protocols and hygiene procedures, and supervise his/her team follow the same standards, in order to warrant the quality of the care and service in his/her specialty
Carry out and/or supervise the (decentralized) pharmacy and medical equipment management (drugs orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, inventories, follow-up of expired drugs and their destruction, drugs consumption, etc.) in his or her department, in order to satisfy the needs of material with efficiency and effectiveness
Give regular feedback to the Midwife head and report directly any issue or incident.
Perform hands on tasks as part of the team whenever required or needed in order to optimize the resources and to contribute with his/her knowledge and experience.
Participate in MLMCC hospital monthly meetings.
Participation in MNDSR committee meetings.
Collection of daily report from staff (from midwife, interns and registration books)
Prepare weekly report and share with midwife head.
Prepare monthly report and share with midwife head.
Able to provide useful and on time solutions for the required challenge.
Able to track every individual client of MLMCC information.
MLMCC midwife supervisor is in the same level as midwife
To provide technical support and advisory to MLUs midwives in case of need via 24/7 telephone hotline
Ensure and supervise the implementation of protocols by all staff he/she is in charge of, in order to improve the quality of the healthcare given to population and prevent any infection due to staff malpractices
Deliver daily bedside trainings for staff according to the needs identified, follow the bedside training guide and collaborate closely with other trainers.

Registered Midwife, Bachelor degree is preferred
One-year experience in similar position desirable
Good communication skill both in writing and oral in Dari/Pashtu essential
Communication skill in English oral and written desirable
Two positive references from previous employers or educators.
Ability to communicate clearly and work well with others in a team environment
Strong commitment to midwifery profession and Midwifery Association
