Job Description:



The project will contribute to peacebuilding and conflict resolution efforts initiated by the United States and supported by the international community and the government of Afghanistan for a peaceful and a stable Afghanistan after September 11, 2021. The project officer will cascade down peace messaging to the local communities and facilitate conflict resolution and peace dialogue in the grassroots level in Nangarhar province (Kama District)

Job Requirements:



The Project Officer will be responsible for carrying the following and not limit to:

Program Implementation

Responsible for project implementation as per developed detail implementation plan in the targeted province and ensure project objectives are met with highest standards and best practices.
Responsible for organizing training for community peace building focal points.
Distributing IEC materials to the community peace building focal points
Provide regular field visit to support peace builders at community level at targeted villages of Kama district.
Organize regular supportive supervision visit from the sites
Provide technical support to peace builders during their practical work in field.
Reporting all community base activities (distribution of tools, collating, reviewing, feedbacks…etc) to the country office and regional coordinator.   
Monitoring closely the progress of the projects and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the projects
Compile biweekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on time and with accurate data and submit to Regional coordinator.
Contribution in pipeline preparation on monthly basis
Represents International Medical Corps and project at communities’ districts and provincial level by attending meetings, sharing information, and providing feedback when requested.
Conducting project final evaluation and prepare report about the project efficiency and effectiveness.



Coordinating activities with community, local and international NGOs, UN agencies, local Afghan Government Authorities and other stakeholders to ensure holistic support to project implementation.
Actively participate all relevant meeting in regard of Peace process at district and provincial level

Technical Tasks:

Technical Support to the community peace builders in conducting training and cascading peace messages in the communities.



Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies.
Consider security implications of all program activities, review all new initiatives with national staff and community leaders.


Maintain flexibility to take any added responsibility as and when needed. Perform other duties ask by supervisor.


Has the ability to engage in leadership and coordination.
Able to provide solutions to the problems and challenges facing with during the project implementation .
Has good interpersonal relationships with (peers, communities, supervisors, employees, colleagues in mission, etc).
Speaks and writes clearly and effectively. Listens to others and shows real commitment to maintaining open communication with beneficiaries and other team members.
Committed to working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve project tasks for the team.
Willing to learn from others and open to giving and receiving feedback.


Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in political science, social science, education or equalling.
At least 3 years of experience in working with INGs, NGOs and government at communities
Experience in training and working with community based shuras, counsels and leaders.  
 Experience in BPHS/EPHS is desirable
Expertise in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint Excel, and internet is required.
Fluency in spoken and written Pashtu, Dari and English is a requirement
Ability to write logical, clear, and concise reports.
