About Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan:

CW4WAfghan is a volunteer not-for-profit organization founded in 1996 with thirteen chapters across Canada. CW4WAfghan is a non-religious, non-political, federally registered charity. The goals are to advance education and educational opportunities for Afghan women and their families; and to educate and increase the understanding of Canadians about human rights in Afghanistan. Donor funded projects are implemented and managed in partnership with Afghan non-profit organizations. These projects include a number of community schools, village libraries, an orphanage, as well as teacher training, literacy, English and computer classes. The projects are funded mainly from individual donations from Canadians and 100% of funds donated go to women-centered projects in Afghanistan.

Job Description:

The main procurement duties of the position shall be as follows:

  • Undertake procurement of goods and services, in line with CW4WAfghan procurement policy, of supplies and equipment required for office management and operations, and for project and program activities;
  • Compile the required information for purchase orders such as preparation and dispatch of requests for quotations;
  • Collect quotations from different suppliers and prepare quotations comparative table;
  • Prepare and review the purchase orders and contracts;
  • Establish supplier database to promote rapid response;
  • Ensure up-to-date inventory and supply filing system in place and all items are recorded in a timely and correct manner;
  • Ensure the accurate tracking of fixed assets and organize the stocks.
  • Ensure that all assets are received in good condition, certify that the supplies are appropriate and in accordance to the specifications required, as indicated in the purchase order form;
  • Coordinate the delivery processes to ensure that the distribution plan is met;
  • Ensure adequate stock of supplies at all times and ensure proper procedures are followed when issuing supplies.

The main logistics duties of the position shall be as follows:

  • Coordinate vehicle/staff movements;
  • Arrange field visits for the Country Director, program staff and delegations from Canada including flight, hotel booking and local transportation;
  • Assist in the planning, coordination and preparation of workshops and other events hosted by CW4WAfghan;
  • Ensure that vehicle logbooks are duly recorded and report any misconduct to the management;
  • Ensure that the organization’s vehicles are regularly maintained.


Job Requirements:

  • BA Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum two years’ experience in procurement and logistics
  • Good accounting skills
  • Strong sense of organization and experience managing a filing system
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and solid team player
  • Fluency in Dari and English
  • Interest in and personal commitment to gender equity, women’s empowerment, and education as a basic human right
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and strong Internet proficiency. Experience using Access an asset.
