About Afghan Social Marketing Organization (ASMO):
The Afghan Social Marketing Organization (ASMO) is a social marketing and behavioral change communication organization established in August 2008. ASMO as a free-standing, not-for-profit Afghan organization aims to create positive health outcomes by giving Afghan households the information they need to make informed and healthy choices and expanding access to high quality health products through commercial markets.
From the inception to-date ASMO successfully implemented multimillion Dollar projects in Afghanistan through sub-awards sponsored by USAID focusing to improve health services.
ASMO is currently working as a sub-contractor with Abt Associate Inc under SHOPS Plus/USAID project (The Sustaining Health Outcomes through the Private Sector Plus.
The incumbent is expected to perform procurement and warehouse operations tasks, maintain and update in the system the inventory records and information and work with departments internally to handle requests for procurement matters. He/she is expected to report directly to the Procurement and Warehouse Manager. Business travel to provinces will be required from time to time.
Outline of Responsibilities:
Post in the QB (QuickBooks) the inventory transactions daily, ensure accuracy and completeness of postings by frequently performing reconciliation procedures.
Post in the QB (QuickBooks) the PO (purchase orders) for all applicable purchases.
Work closely with finance to ensure liabilities to suppliers are correctly stated in the system.
Routinely perform suppliers and inventory reconciliations to ensure inventories (products) positions (balances) matches with documentations and generate supplier’s statements to show amounts paid and remaining balance.
Responsible to get purchases requisitions orders are generated, get them appropriately signed and approved by signatories and properly documented.
Responsible to get the quotations from the market available as needed and carry out purchases for goods and services.
Follow under directions the line manager and collaboration with finance the compliances requirements related to purchases, advance clearance.
Will be responsible for record-keeping for inward and outward inventories (products) ensure inventory flows (in and out) are taking place in line with the established procedure (LIFO, FIFO, ect)
Check routinely the warehouse facilities so that to keep the equipment, tools and instruments operational.
Will be involved from time to time with custom clearances processes for imported goods.
Assist the line manager with preparing and announcing the RFQ (request for quotation), bookings for tickets and hotels and other administrative works.
Perform other task/activities assigned by line manager and management
Must hold bachelor degree in Business Administration or equivalent. Master degree in Business Administration will be an advantage.
Must have at least 4 years proven work experiences in the field of inventory management, warehousing and purchases.
Professional trainings in QB (QuickBooks), inventory management, MS Words, MS Excel strongly desired.
He/she should be competent in QB (QuickBooks), MS Word, MS Excel. Additionally, he/she should be skilled in English language verbal and written.
