Muslim Hands International [MHI] is an International Relief and Development NGO, established in the United Kingdom in 1993 with the objective of providing relief and emergency services and long term sustainable development projects in a cultural, ethical, effective, efficient and transparent manner. Muslim Hands works both directly and with partners in 40+ countries worldwide carrying out short and long-term projects in emergency relief, shelter, safe water, medical care, education and vocational training. Muslim Hands Afghanistan has been operating since 1994. The organization obtained formal registration from the Ministry of Economy in Afghanistan (registration No: 141) in 2002, and is now firmly established with its Headquarters in Kabul, and is fully engaged in relief, education, and development activities in different parts of the country
The Project District Officer will be responsible for leading, providing direction, supporting and managing Community Mobilization and Institution Development activities of promoting & nurturing Self-help groups, carry out periodic supervision of Project Coordinator activities in targeted areas.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The District Officer shall:
Set targets/develop plan & conduct reviews, help & coordinate with Project Coordinator to set their plan/targets, to achieve set plan effectively, collate data, develop reports etc.
Assist the Project Coordinator annual, monthly, and weekly work plans for the smooth operation of activities at the district level. Closely monitor the district team’s outputs against these plans.
Support Project Coordinator to ensure that program activities are being followed according to work plans and operational manual of MHI GPE.
Undertake field visits, assessing situations, providing feedback and necessary support to Project Coordinator leading towards effective and quality Self-help Groups
Review the progress of implementation and assist district staff in planning future activities in-line with quarterly, six-monthly and annual work plans.
Regularly monitor the work of the Project Coordinator in the field, and provide feedback to the technical teams of PMO, should there be a need for trainings.
Ensure that SOs are coordinating activities with other relevant project staff such as Lead Framers from GPE.
Prepare a plan to develop the capacities of Project Coordinator.
Keep himself/herself updated & informed with latest development in the sector and keep informed our team drawing external and in house/internal knowledge & experience, documenting it and integrating to the build the program further.
Coordinate responses to requests for information
Contribute to developing and reporting of project reviews, assessments, surveys, and other analytic or evaluation processes and products.
Knowledge/Experience 4 years experiences in business development activities at field level with GoA institution, an NGO, or a development agency in Afghanistan.
Minimum a Bachelor Degree from any recognized University.
Computer skills (Office)
Excellent in English (listening, reading, writing, and speaking) required
Fluency in written and spoken Dari/Pashto
