Incumbent serves as the personal assistant to the Ambassador, Deputy Chief of Mission, Assistant Chief of Mission, and visiting delegations from Washington in terms of providing protocol guidance and protocol liaison with the host government. Advises on the protocol aspects of all types of official and social situations, contacts, and communications. Maintains contact lists and guest lists, determines order of precedence within and among groups, and provides protocol-related guidance for officials served. Arranges meetings and events for Front Office principals, ensuring correct protocol are followed during the invitation, RSVP, and access processes. Escorts VIPs and other important visitors to ensure events and meetings run smoothly and correct protocol procedures are followed.
EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience performing translations or protocol duties with a government or non-governmental organization.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must be aware of all aspects of protocol, social and diplomatic customs and also familiar with names of political influential.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Completion of secondary (high) school is required.
How You will be Evaluated:
LANGUAGE: English IV, Dari IV and Pashto IV is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Level II (30-45 words per minute) typing and readable attractive handwriting and good public relations skills are required. Ability to organize, work independently, and take individual initiative is required. Must have basic computer skills (ability to work on a PC, use basic programs like Microsoft Outlook and various databases.)
