Project Introduction

Following the success of the first phase of the Strengthened Access to Justice for Women Affected by Violence through Proven Culturally Sensitive Approaches (SA2JWAV) project, the Foundation obtained extensions of the project to continue work to prevent violence against women in Afghanistan. Under the project, the Foundation is building capacity of religious, traditional, and local leaders and community members on women’s Islamic rights to prevent violence against women. The Foundation is also providing support to women victims of violence through Community Dialogue Groups (CDGs) and Family Resolution Centers (FRCs) to improve VAW case management and referral mechanisms. The project is being implemented in Nangahar, Khost, Takhar, Badghis, Kandahar, Herat, Kunduz and Urozgan provinces.

Job Description:

Purpose of the Position

The Provincial M&E Assistant/Consultant will be responsible for the monitoring of the project implementation plan through Foundation’s monitoring and evaluation tools. Additionally, He/she will assist in the evaluation of the project’s results and achievements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor field activities of the implementing partner (IP) of the Foundation through developed monitoring and evaluation tools.
Enter all project activities reports into Project Monitoring and Information System (PMIS).
Randomly check and verify the contacted beneficiaries for mentoring or immediate telephonic advice on monthly bases
Collect, verify, and submit M&E supportive documents as evidence for audit purposes, if required.
Provide support in organizing field visits for the head office staff.
Participate in project implementation & coordination meetings with IP.
Coordinate with IP for timely submission of monthly project activities plan for field activities.
Provide timely inputs for new initiatives and improvements on M&E issues to M&E Specialist.
Assist in conducting baseline, end-line, focus groups discussion, qualitative interviews or any other evaluation activity.
Undertake any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Education: High School Graduation Certificate or a University Degree (University Degree will be preferable)

Experience: At least 2 years of working experience in a similar position with local or international NGO.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong computer skills, including Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong report writing skills.
Fluency in English, Dari, and Pashtu languages in speech, writing and comprehension.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team.
Be able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Ability to take field travel (districts), including Kabul.
