Job Description:

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Resident Engineer will perform the following duties:

1. Supervision of daily construction activities at site.
2. Carry out checks on the setting out and ensuring that the Works are carried out in accordance with the drawings and other design details.
3. Preparing and updating the project schedule.
4. Assisting the company in preparation of the QC plan, Health & Safety Plan and EMP plan.
5. Checking daily progress reports.
6. Estimation of quantities.
7. Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports and its submittal to client. 
8. Ensuring that all the works are as per the project schedule.
9. Ensure that Works are executed in accordance with all provisions of the Contract, including those relating to standards of materials and workmanship, health and safety requirements and environmental protection requirements.
10. Maintaining regular estimates of the cost to completion and time to completion for the Contracts.
11. Maintain full and detailed permanent site records including site correspondence, survey data, quality acceptance data, site diaries, measurement and certification, minutes of meetings and records of all other contractually relevant matters.
12. Monitor the quality control Procedures and conducting random tests at construction site.
13. Liaising with all relevant agencies.
14. Reporting to the team leader of the consultancy.
15. Solving the site construction problems.
16. Assigning of all required and available resources to project.
17. Monitor and implementation of the environmental, health and safety plans.
18. Managing budget, human resources and equipment of the project.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Resident Engineer will have direct supervision of all project engineers and site staff of the company.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor or Master Degree in Civil Engineering with extensive working experience of daily construction activities at site.
At least 8 years work experience in supervision of the road construction project, preferably with international donor-funded projects, USAID, UN agencies or NGO’s on relevant programs in Afghanistan.
Leadership quality and interpersonal skill.
Ability to work in tense and pressure environment.
Problem solution skill.
Fluency in English and Pashto, Dari a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literate with e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet.
Ability to design database and prepare meaningful reports.
