About War Child UK:
War Child was established in 1993 as a response to the brutal effects of conflict on children during the Balkans war. We are currently operational in Iraq, Afghanistan, Jordan, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Central African Republic. War Child UK started its operation in the Western Region of Afghanistan in 2003 working in three (3) thematic areas namely Education, Protection and Livelihood. War Child UK’s main office is located in Kabul and a sub-office in Herat and Badghis.
The Duties and responsibilities may include but not limited to:
Make sure the office environment is safe and secure all the time
Gather security-related information and share it with all staff in the relevant location.
The monitor security situation in the project site and provide advice in consultation of National Security Officer (NSO) to travelling staff in the field regarding restricted/high risks /”no go” areas
Report any incidents and accidents of staff to NSO, Team Leader, and Safety Focal Point on time
Preparing guards schedule, leave forms, and overtime forms
Supervise guards and ensure that the organizational code of conduct is respected and adhered to.
Implement staff/vehicle movement tracking
Ensure the safety of the organization’s assets, staff, and beneficiaries
Initiate relationship building with communities in the project areas to promote acceptance of War Child UK’s presence and gain their support and cooperation
Having effective communication with non-state actors through communities
Hold a meeting with stakeholders, active actors in the area and pass their message to the Team Leader, Regional Coordinator and NSO
Act as an access focal point to the communities and filed project staff
Any other tasks as required/delegated by the reported line managers/supervisors
12th graduation, bachelor degree preferred, or another related field
3-5 years of relevant experience in fieldwork on issues related to access and security
Strong communication, interactions, and conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
Ability to travel independently to the targeted districts
Fluent in national languages, Pashto and Dari
