IDS Afghanistan is currently seeking for well experienced Structural Engineer for its FIAT Project based in Kabul with frequent trips to central & Eastern Region & Balkh/Kunduz.
FIAT Project is a 5 years third party monitoring and evaluation project which aims to monitor, assess and verify all completed/on-going projects of implementing partners (Both governmental and non-governmental organizations).
Site visits and spot checking and verifying the works of contractors/grantees on the contract requirements and ensuring works progress according to the engineering standards and project schedules;
Ensure project contractors/grantees comply with the pre-approved engineering plans, layouts and drawings;
Verify Bills of Quantity against material procured by the contractor/grantee in order to assess compliance;
Prepare checklists and monitoring questionnaires according to client-prescribed specifications to facilitate the monitoring process
Obtain samples of material for further tests to verify and assess compliance with project technical specifications and Afghan National Building and Construction Codes
Produce date-stamped and geo-tagged photographs and videos to document project status, progress of works and failures to comply with technical specifications;
Submit weekly, monthly and project completion reports to record progress and report any significant issues to the M&E Specialists
Master’s Degree in the relevant field is required (Degree must be available)
ILR Level 2 – Professional working proficiency of English language.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience, preferably with international organizations, government and NGOs.
Verifiable ability to produce clear and concise inspection reports.
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills;
Able to work successfully under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office package
Excellent knowledge of Team Management and Reporting
Technical writing skills Excellent Presentation Skills
Excellent communications skills
Fluent in Writing/Reading/Speaking in English Language (TOFEL/TOIC Certificates are desirable).
Strong experience/knowledge of Water Treatment Plant(WTP)/Waste Water Treatment Plant(WWTP)
Quality Control knowledge & Expertise is mandatory
Excellent knowledge of Computer programs relevant to the required field.
