Job Description:

Incumbent is responsible for the processing of all immigrant visa cases in Afghanistan.  As a senior LE staff member in the IV unit, the incumbent provides guidance and training to two FSN-7 visa assistant and three FSN-7 visa assistant backups and plans work for the unit.  Incumbent`s work requires familiarity and expertise with not only U.S. immigration law and policy, but also the legal systems and documentary practices for Afghanistan and surrounding countries if needed.


Job Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Two years of customer service or consular experience required.




In-depth knowledge of 9 FAM, governing U.S. immigration law and all aspects of visa processing

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Art (Humanities), Business (Commerce), Science/ Technology, Computer Application or Business Administration is required.




Should be able to speak, read and write fluently in Dari (Level IV) and should be able to speak, read, and write fluently in English (level IV), should be able to and decipher complex U.S. immigration laws, policy, and FAM entries, as well as inquiries from the public, and explain them in English.

Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills are essential.  Ability to research and disseminate information to meet individual clients’ needs.  Strong communication skills in order to provide customers with the most accurate information on visa processing are prerequisite.  Strong writing, briefing, and leadership skills required.  Familiarity with computer systems, including the Microsoft Office suite, is essential.
