Background

Cure Hospital is a charitable foundation dedicated to meeting the medical needs of economically disadvantaged patients and their families. The purpose of Cure Hospital, Kabul is to provide excellent health services and training in the health provision. Cure Hospital has been present in Afghanistan since February 2005.  We have training programs in Family medicine, OB/GYN, pathology, and general surgery all of which are recognized by the MOPH.

 Purpose:

Perform diagnostic radiographs, daily maintenance of X-ray equipment and room, daily maintenance of X-ray films processor and handles processing of radiology request, radiology report and x-ray films.

Job Description:

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Perform diagnostic radiographs to include but not limited to:
  2. Proper positioning and radiology technique while adhering to radiation safety guidelines and universal precautions
  • Processing of exposed x-ray films
  • Reloading of x-ray cassette with unexposed film
  • Preparation of x-ray films with request for reading by Radiologist
  • Assistance to Radiologist in conducting special procedures
  • Transfer of patients to and from urgent care as needed

 2. Preforms daily maintenance of x-ray equipment and room                 to include but not limited to:

  • Daily maintenance of x-ray equipment to sustain continued operations.
  • Maintenance of a clean and safe working environment.

3.Preforms daily maintenance of x-ray films processor to                     include but not limited to:

  • Warming up of processor in the beginning of the work day
  • Properly turning off processor to include opening of the top lid at the end of the work day
  • Maintain proper level of fixer and developer in the auto mixer
  • Ensure proper handling of x-ray films cassettes for continued use
  • Replenish x-ray bin with x-ray film as needed
  • Request for maintenance as needed

4. Handles processing of radiology request, radiology reports:

  • Logging in of patient into the Radiology Access program.
  • Preforms other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Graduate of Associate Degree or two year course approved by MOPH.
  2. Minimum of 3 year experience in preforming diagnostic radiographs, daily maintenance of x-ray films processor.
  3. Must have the appropriate level of behavioral maturity and patience in handling patients.
  4. Very good interpersonal relationship skills and can work and relate well with co employees, patients and customers.
  5. Outstanding communication skills and persuasiveness, especially the ability to communicate instruction and procedure for treatments, keeping the patients and giving them the desired level of comfort and confidence.
  6. Must have strong sensitivity to the needs and anxieties of patients and ability to motivate patients to undergo treatments and/or procedures.
  7. Strong ethics and high level of personal and professional integrity.
  8. Have computer/MS office programs Knowledge.
  9. Honesty and professionalism in all dealing with patients and their relatives.
  10. Flute in spoken and written English, Dari and Pashtoo.
